Ik zoek een huis.

Waar de trap leidt naar een open deur,

Waar de sociale en mijn innerlijke wereld samenkomen,

Waar mijn blik op de wereld als licht door de ramen schijnt,

Waar gevoelens als buitensluiting en onbegrip een plek krijgen,

Ik zoek naar een huis om te behoren.

Daar bouw ik als metselaar met bestaande vormen,

Daar vormen materiaal en zijn historie stabiele bouwstenen,

Daar draait de interpretatie als schaduw voor de zon,

Daar komen intentie en gevoel samen,

Dat is waar ik thuis hoor.

I long for a house.

Where the stairway leads to an open door,

Where the social and my inner world collide,

Where my outlook on the world shines like light through the windows,

Where feelings like exclusion and incomprehension are given a place,

I long for a house to belong.

There I construct as a mason with existing forms,

There material and its history shape stable building blocks,

There interpretation rotates as shadow before the sun,

There intention and feeling unite,

That is my home.
